Head of Technical Accounting

Responsibilities

• Act as the Group authority on technical accounting matters, providing clear advice on complex and judgemental issues
• Lead the assessment and documentation of significant accounting judgments, estimates, and positions across the Group
• Prepare and review high-quality technical accounting papers for the Audit Committee and other governance forums
• Act as the primary technical interface with External Auditors to resolve issues and minimize audit surprises
• Partner with Tax, Legal, and Corporate Development on restructurings, acquisitions, and strategic transactions
• Own and maintain the Group accounting manual, policies, and procedures
• Lead the implementation of new and revised accounting standards across the Group
• Build and develop technical accounting capability across the Group finance function

Requirements

• Extensive technical accounting experience within a large, complex, listed organisation or top-tier professional services firm
• Deep expertise in IFRS with a strong track record of advising on complex areas
• Significant experience supporting Audit Committees and engaging with External Auditors at a senior level
• Experience supporting restructurings, transactions, and tax-related accounting matters
• Strong professional judgement and the ability to articulate complex matters to non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional finance qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Experience with SAP or Oracle certifications
