Head of Tax, Greater China

Responsibilities

• Provide tax advice to business divisions including Investment Bank, Asset Management, and Global Wealth Management across Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Korea.
• Monitor tax reform issues impacting the organization and manage relationships with tax authorities.
• Review tax effect accounting calculations, annual statutory reporting, and quarterly local and Swiss reporting.
• Support the annual corporate income tax process and review tax returns for all legal entities under your responsibility.
• Review and update income tax manuals, annual transfer pricing documentation, and local files under country-by-country reporting rules.
• Provide technical tax support to the wider APAC tax team and supervise team members in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Requirements

• Qualified accountant or legal qualification with a university degree.
• Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience.
• Deep knowledge of the financial services industry, gained at a blue-chip financial organization or through a Big Four accounting/law firm.
• Proven experience managing tax and regulatory change initiatives, including the use of AI and technology solutions.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to apply technical understanding to practical problems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to express opinions clearly and firmly to senior stakeholders.
