Head of Talent

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle recruiting across functions, with an emphasis on engineering, product, AI, and GTM roles
• Build the recruiting engine from the ground up, including sourcing strategy, interview processes, and candidate experience
• Partner with leadership and Finance on headcount planning, role prioritization, and compensation bands
• Develop lightweight but rigorous recruiting systems, including ATS hygiene, reporting, and funnel metrics
• Act as a talent brand ambassador to attract high-caliber talent in competitive markets

Requirements

• 6+ years of recruiting experience, specifically within early-stage or high-growth startup environments
• Proven experience building a hiring function or recruiting engine from scratch
• Demonstrated track record of hiring both technical (Engineering, AI, Product) and GTM roles
• Strong analytical skills for managing headcount plans, recruiting funnels, and comp calibration
• Ability to operate effectively in low-brand-leverage environments through proactive candidate engagement and selling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience scaling a startup from Seed or Series A through a major growth phase
• Background recruiting for AI, fintech, B2B SaaS, or vertical software companies
• Deep familiarity with the NYC and San Francisco talent markets
• Experience using modern ATS platforms like Ashby to build recruiting dashboards
