Head of Strategic Finance, Africa

Responsibilities

• Own financial strategy, planning, and performance management for Zipline’s Africa business
• Act as a strategic advisor to Africa leadership on investment decisions, growth strategy, and unit economics
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis for Africa operations
• Partner with Go-to-Market, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to support cost-effective execution
• Build and lead a high-impact finance team
• Partner with regional finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and strong internal controls
• Evaluate pricing strategies and market expansion opportunities to drive sustainable growth

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in finance, including 5+ years in a senior or leadership role
• Experience leading finance for high-growth, operations-intensive businesses like logistics or manufacturing
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic analysis skills
• Experience partnering with international or regional finance teams; exposure to African markets preferred
• Experience working with governments as clients or partners
• Working knowledge of IFRS and multi-currency environments
• Proven experience building and leading high-performing teams
• Strong executive presence and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with the U.S. government or public-sector programs
• Experience operating in a matrixed leadership environment
