Head of SOX Testing

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end SOX business process controls testing programme, including annual and interim testing plans.
• Build and lead the new Hyderabad testing hub, including hiring and managing a team of 6+ testers.
• Develop and continuously improve testing methodologies, templates, and evidence standards.
• Act as the primary interface for external auditors regarding business process testing and walkthroughs.
• Manage external co-sourced testing resources, ensuring quality and alignment with Wise methodology.
• Oversee issue management and remediation governance, ensuring practical and measurable remediation plans.
• Identify opportunities to implement AI and data analytics to improve testing coverage and speed.
• Drive a low-friction evidence request process to minimize disruption to business process owners.

Requirements

• Strong SOX/ICFR testing experience across business process controls (Design Effectiveness and Operating Effectiveness).
• Deep understanding of controls testing methodology, sampling, and audit standards.
• Proven experience managing an end-to-end testing programme from planning through to reporting.
• Experience managing or coordinating external/co-sourced testing teams.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence remediation outcomes.
• Excellent written documentation and governance-ready communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or scaling a testing function or a controls centre of excellence.
• Background working in Fintech, high-growth, or highly regulated environments.
• Experience with continuous controls monitoring, data analytics, or AI-enabled assurance.
• Experience working across distributed teams and multiple time zones.
