Head of Solutions Development

Responsibilities

• Act as a technical lead on business development and winning proposals
• Design commercially competitive solutions for transport operations
• Collaborate with businesses and risk partners to write solution design documents and tender responses
• Manage project timelines, milestones, and communication plans
• Apply agile methodologies and design thinking to drive innovation
• Analyse data and trends to design strategies for operational efficiency
• Translate business challenges into valuable products and services
• Support the development of the business development team and new contract implementations

Requirements

• Proven track record in logistics solutions design with commercial accountability
• In-depth knowledge of transport operations, logistics, supply chain, and fleet management
• Understanding of transport scheduling, route optimisation, and smart mobility platforms
• Strong business acumen regarding product lifecycles and market trends
• Knowledge of commercial logistics rates and profit & loss
• Ability to communicate confidently with Senior Management and Board Level stakeholders
• Experience leading teams through tender and business development processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with industry-recognised simulation and modelling tools such as CLASS, CAST, or Paragon
• Awareness of emerging technologies including AI integration and cloud computing
