About the role
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve social communications strategy for Anthropic's brand channels across current and emerging platforms
- Steward Anthropic's voice across platforms and audiences: nuanced, candid, technically credible, and empathetic
- Serve as the bridge between Communications’ and Marketing’s social workstreams
- Plan and execute social communications strategy for major moments, including model launches and research publications
- Lead reactive issue and incident communications on social channels including X
- Build and nurture online communities by monitoring sentiment and engaging with developers and critics
- Identify and engage key voices in the AI ecosystem
- Measure sentiment, share of voice, brand affinity, and community health
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience leading social communications and response strategy for a brand under public scrutiny
- Proven track record of growing audiences and deepening engagement and trust
- Exceptional writing skills with mastery of nuanced brand voice
- Experience operating across communications and marketing organizations
- Experience managing multi-brand or company-plus-product social ecosystems
- Experience leading social channel strategy through crises and high-stakes news cycles
- Ability to build and manage online communities at scale
- Fluency with social analytics and connecting platform data to business outcomes
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in AI, machine learning, or frontier technology companies
- Experience managing social for developer or technical audiences
- Background in journalism, editorial, or creative fields
- Video editing and multimedia production skills
- Experience managing agencies, contractors, or direct reports
- International social media experience
