Head of SMS Program

Responsibilities

• Lead the deployment, governance, and continuous evolution of the Sanofi Manufacturing System (SMS 2.0) across the site.
• Drive performance transformation initiatives, including continuous improvement programs and Factory 4.0 solutions.
• Identify operational performance gaps through benchmarking and data-driven analysis to translate insights into improvement opportunities.
• Ensure performance initiatives deliver measurable business impact across Quality, Delivery, Cost, Safety, and People objectives.
• Lead change management activities to embed sustainable operational excellence practices across the organization.
• Establish governance to monitor initiative progress, benefits realization, and long-term sustainability.
• Partner with Global SMS ecosystem leaders to develop and deploy operating standards and upskilling roadmaps.
• Manage resource allocation and oversee the site digital budget supporting SMS and Factory 4.0 initiatives.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience leading Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement programs.
• Experience within the pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record of leading enterprise-level transformation and change management initiatives.
• Demonstrated experience deploying manufacturing operating systems and driving sustainable performance improvements.
• Experience working within cGMP regulated manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing financial performance (P&L, COGS, etc.) and project portfolio management.
• Knowledge of Manufacturing 4.0 concepts, including MES, SAP, and digital manufacturing solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Sanofi Manufacturing System (SMS) operating standards and certification frameworks.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies and digital products supporting SMS (e.g., eOEE, iObeya).
• Practical application of AI and Generative AI solutions within a manufacturing or operational excellence context.
