Head of Sixth Form

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Sixth Form to ensure high standards of student achievement, attendance, and conduct
• Lead the development and implementation of high-quality Sixth Form provision aligned with academy priorities
• Establish a culture of high expectations, professionalism, and aspiration for all students
• Take accountability for the recruitment, retention, progress, and destinations of Sixth Form students
• Lead and develop the Sixth Form team, including tutors and support staff, to provide excellent pastoral and academic support
• Ensure efficient and compliant operations in accordance with academy and statutory requirements

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree
• Proven teaching experience, including experience at the post-16 level
• Demonstrated experience in leadership and improving student outcomes
• Proficiency in using assessment and student data to drive academic improvement
• Experience leading or contributing to pastoral systems and student support services
• Experience monitoring student attendance, behaviour, and progress
