Head of Section (Secondary)

Responsibilities

• Lead the Secondary school section (Grades 6-12) at the Khalifa City branch
• Oversee American curriculum development, implementation, and assessment aligned with US Common Core State Standards
• Manage staff supervision, performance management, and professional development for educators
• Ensure full compliance with all Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) regulations and inspection frameworks
• Analyze academic and behavioral data to implement data-driven solutions for student outcomes
• Foster a collaborative, positive, and multicultural school environment
• Build strong relationships with students, staff, parents, and ADEK representatives

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a relevant academic subject
• Valid and current Professional Teaching License/Certification from a recognized US state or North American authority
• Minimum of 7 years of full-time teaching experience within an American curriculum environment (Grades 6-12)
• Minimum of 4 years of proven leadership experience (e.g., Head of Department, Assistant Principal)
• Expert-level understanding of American Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
• Comprehensive knowledge of ADEK regulations and policies
• Proficiency in educational technology and Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Educational Leadership, Administration, or Curriculum and Instruction
• Leadership or Administrative credential
• Experience with US college preparatory guidance and Advanced Placement (AP) programs
