Head of Secondary

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Secondary School section in alignment with the school’s vision and strategic objectives
• Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and student achievement across the secondary phase
• Provide academic leadership for the British Curriculum, including GCSE programs and examination preparation
• Monitor curriculum implementation, lesson quality, and student progress to ensure outstanding educational outcomes
• Support and mentor teachers through coaching, professional development, and performance management
• Analyze academic performance data and implement improvement plans where necessary
• Ensure compliance with ADEK requirements, school policies, and safeguarding standards
• Lead curriculum planning, timetable coordination, and examination readiness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant subject area
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent
• Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and leadership experience within a British Curriculum school
• Strong GCSE curriculum and assessment experience is essential
• Proven experience in academic leadership and school improvement initiatives
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education
• Strong understanding of ADEK regulations and inspection frameworks
• Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
• Collaborative and approachable leadership style
