Head of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs

Responsibilities

• Lead the SRA function in EMEA, providing mentorship and growth opportunities to the team
• Minimize company risk by providing concise regulatory advice to ensure compliance and product safety
• Interpret the impact of legislation and provide guidance on regulatory opportunities and threats
• Partner with innovation leaders to support product development and align organizational goals
• Build strong relationships with customers and interact with their regulatory counterparts
• Anticipate upcoming regulatory changes through dynamic networks
• Lead interfaces in key ingredient associations in the EU and UK to influence regulatory requirements
• Provide fact-based regulatory guidance to shape business positions and product messaging

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Food Science, Food Law/Policy, Biological Sciences, or a relevant field
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in regulatory affairs within the food industry
• Deep knowledge of EU legislation including general food law, novel foods, additives, and labeling
• Understanding of Codex International Standards
• Knowledge of UK post-Brexit regulatory frameworks is highly desirable
• Knowledge of chemical law (REACH) is desirable
• Strong ability to interpret complex regulations and communicate them clearly
• Proficient influencing and negotiating skills in multi-cultural environments
• Fluent English; reading knowledge of French or other EU languages is an advantage
