About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the face of Rhombus at industry conferences, networking events, and policy forums
  • Leverage senior-level relationships to facilitate introductions with flag officers and SES executives
  • Lead the global sales organization, overseeing US Government and international sales operations
  • Act as executive sponsor on large strategic opportunities exceeding $5M
  • Engage with Congressional staff and government affairs stakeholders to position the company
  • Partner with the CEO on highest-priority accounts and executive engagement strategy
  • Support the scaling of the D.C.-based sales team to 20-30 people
  • Accelerate international sales by leveraging relationships with allied nation defense officials
  • Provide strategic guidance on complex government procurement processes and contracting vehicles
  • Report on sales performance, pipeline health, and major opportunity status to executive leadership

Requirements

  • Retired 3-star or 4-star military officer, SES-3 or above civilian executive, or equivalent senior government official
  • 20-30 years of DoD/IC career experience
  • 5-10 years post-retirement experience in defense technology sales leadership
  • Proven track record closing $100M+ in cumulative government contracts
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance or ability to immediately reactivate
  • Based in Washington, D.C. or Northern Virginia area
  • Willingness to travel extensively (50%+)
  • Experience scaling defense technology companies from $50M to $500M+ in revenue

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing connections with allied and partner nation defense officials (Five Eyes, NATO, Pacific allies)
