Head of Quality Engineering

About the Company

Foundry Robotics is building an AI-native robotics manufacturing company focused on deploying advanced assembly and production capability for leading robotics companies and national-security-critical hardware. We are reimagining manufacturing through advanced robotics to rebuild the American manufacturing industry as an AI-first, assembly-focused, dual-use contract manufacturer.

Responsibilities

• Architect, document, and own the AS9100D / ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS)
• Lead the company through third-party certification processes
• Run the internal audit program, management review, and supplier quality
• Own inspection plans, control plans, first article inspection, and quality records
• Manage nonconformance and corrective action end to end, including root cause analysis
• Serve as the quality point of contact for customer audits and source inspections
• Mentor inspectors, technicians, and junior quality staff

Requirements

• 7+ years of quality engineering experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• Working expertise in AS9100D and/or ISO 9001:2015
• Demonstrated experience in QMS implementation or third-party certification
• Fluency in structured problem solving, FMEA, control plans, and process capability analysis
• Strong GD&T fluency and ability to interpret engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ certification or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt
• ISO 9001 / AS9100 lead auditor certification
• Experience with APQP / PPAP and IPC workmanship standards
• Experience in robotics, aerospace, defense, or hardware-rich regulated industries
• Experience in early-stage companies building quality systems from scratch
