About the role
About the Company
Adaptyv is building an automated lab that lets AI agents run biology experiments. We are one of the fastest growing biotech companies, building the infrastructure that gives AI agents access to the physical world through a deep software and hardware stack.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end quality control for all protein assays run on the Adaptyv platform, including binding (BLI/SPR), developability, and biophysical characterization.
- Define acceptance criteria, control standards, and QC metrics for each assay type.
- Establish SOPs and quality checkpoints integrated into automated workcell workflows.
- Lead investigation and resolution of out-of-specification results and assay failures.
- Partner with software teams to specify, review, and improve automated data processing pipelines for instrument outputs.
- Define scientific logic for QC rules, anomaly detection, and data acceptance criteria.
- Identify manual bottlenecks in data review and replace them with automated solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers to embed QC logic into workcell control software.
Requirements
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Biophysics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in protein science, analytical development, or QC roles.
- Deep hands-on experience with protein binding assays (BLI or SPR).
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or R for data processing and QC automation.
- Proven experience managing large, multi-condition datasets.
- Track record of building or improving QC frameworks and SOPs in a production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience at a startup, CRO, or high-throughput foundry.
- Familiarity with instrument data formats and APIs (e.g., Sartorius Octet, Cytiva Biacore).
- Background in statistical process control.
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven protein design workflows.
- Experience with laboratory informatics platforms (LIMS, ELN).
