Head of Procurement and Sourcing

Responsibilities

• Lead the build-out of the Strategic Procurement function, including recruiting, onboarding, and developing a new team.
• Establish sourcing strategies and governance for non-clinical spend categories including IT, T&E, S&M, and G&A.
• Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from RFI/RFP/RFQ processes to contract negotiations and implementation.
• Deliver measurable annual savings (target 2–4%) against an approximately $500M addressable spend base.
• Implement contract lifecycle management and a supplier performance management program with KPI tracking.
• Partner with Finance, IT, Legal, and other senior stakeholders to align procurement with business needs.
• Develop procurement policies, approval workflows, and reporting dashboards to track spend and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required (MBA preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing.
• Proven experience in team leadership and managing direct reports.
• Demonstrated success in building or scaling a procurement function, ideally in a growth-stage environment.
• Category expertise in IT, Travel & Expense (T&E), Sales & Marketing (S&M), or G&A.
• Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in the biotech, pharma, or life sciences industry is strongly preferred.
