About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify and originate site opportunities based on power availability, suitability for development, and economic viability
- Lead diligence on power availability, permitting, grid interconnection, and delivery schedules
- Negotiate with generation asset owners, land owners, utilities, and project developers to secure favorable terms
- Model, evaluate, structure, and negotiate project financing
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience leading the full power development lifecycle from origination to commercial operations
- Proven track record of originating and closing deals and taking on project risk
- Hands-on expertise in financial modeling for power development, including accounting and tax implications
- Working knowledge of grid interconnection processes, permitting, and utility coordination
Preferred Qualifications
- Background at an independent power developer or energy team at a large technology company
- Extensive relationships with developers, generation owners, utilities, or RTOs/ISOs
- Familiarity with HVDC transmission or long-distance bulk power infrastructure development
