About the Company

Monumental is automating on-site construction with robotics and software. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous - a future where beautiful, bespoke buildings go up in a single day, with minimal labour. We build the whole stack in-house - hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Own how the company attracts, develops, and stretches the team as it scales from 100 to several hundred people
• Manage performance and equity cycles, ensuring high standards and fair recognition
• Develop an equity and compensation philosophy including refreshers and comp bands
• Coach managers and technical leads on providing direct, timely feedback
• Partner with founders on senior hiring and talent spotting across software, workshop, and operations
• Lead the People team and manage high-priority special projects that span multiple departments
• Scale the people experience (onboarding, perks, etc.) without adding unnecessary policy

Requirements

• Experience building and managing high-performing teams (startup founder, early-stage operator, or leadership in demanding contexts like military or sports)
• Proven ability to take ambiguous projects from 0 to 1
• Strong ability to reason about performance and pay using data without being reductive
• High personal intensity and an instinct for connecting people across departments
• Comfortable working in a technical environment and understanding engineering work
• Knowledge of the Dutch legal framework regarding employment, contracts, and offboarding
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the people side of physical industries, including manufacturing and construction safety and cultural dynamics
