Head of People and Recruiting

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end recruiting pipeline across factory floor, engineering, software, sales, and corporate roles
• Build diverse sourcing channels to reach both blue-collar workers and technical talent
• Implement a high-signal, fast-paced interview process that maintains high hiring standards
• Establish HR infrastructure including handbooks, policies, benefits, payroll, compliance, and compensation bands
• Manage onboarding processes to ensure new hires are productive immediately
• Partner with the CEO and functional leads on organizational design and headcount planning
• Handle employee relations, investigations, and performance management directly
• Lead people operations for new facility openings, including workforce planning and local recruiting partnerships

Requirements

• Proven experience scaling companies from dozens to hundreds of employees
• Demonstrated ability to hire for both blue-collar factory roles and software engineering teams
• Track record of building and implementing ATS, HRIS, and payroll systems from scratch
• Proficiency with modern recruiting and HR tooling, including the use of AI to drive efficiency
• Ability to work on-site in Detroit, engaging directly with candidates and staff on the shop floor
• Strong operational mindset with a focus on speed and quality of hire
