Head of Marketing & Communications

Responsibilities

• Define and build the ICEYE brand identity and narrative specifically for the German defense, security, and government sectors.
• Develop strategic communication playbooks and touchpoint maps for industry, policy, and end-user audiences.
• Own high-stakes technical and strategic writing, including white papers, briefing notes, and executive keynotes.
• Manage external agencies (PR, design, events, creative) as a coherent system to support strategic defense programs.
• Partner closely with the Global CMO, Germany CEO, Government Affairs, and Sales teams to align marketing with capture outcomes.
• Ensure all external communications comply with German security, procurement, and information-handling requirements (e.g., VS-NfD / VSVgV).
• Build and lead a high-performing local marketing and communications team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in marketing and communications leadership.
• Proven experience in the defense, space, geospatial, or high-complexity technical sectors.
• Deep understanding of German policy, defense industry, and procurement landscapes.
• Full professional fluency in both German and English, with exceptional writing skills in both languages.
• Ability to navigate highly regulated environments and security-cleared communication constraints.
• Experience building a brand from the ground up rather than just managing an existing one.
