Head of Logistics Area

Responsibilities

• Disciplinary leadership of logistics branch team leaders within the area of responsibility
• Responsibility and monitoring of inventory levels, including conducting inventories and ensuring minimum stock
• Support capital-efficient inventory management in close cooperation with material management
• Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal guidelines (e.g., occupational safety, fire protection)
• Continuous coordination with sales and operations interfaces
• Ensuring process adherence and participating in continuous improvement projects for end-to-end processes
• Increasing productivity through professional cost management and Lean principles
• Contributing to the innovative development of warehouse infrastructure

Requirements

• Completed training as a freight forwarding and logistics services specialist or wholesale/foreign trade management specialist (IHK)
• Several years of relevant professional experience in logistics
• Strong leadership skills, particularly in modern styles like Lean Leadership or Situational Leadership
• Experience leading both commercial and manual/trade personnel
• Strong communication and moderation skills
• Analytical thinking and solution orientation
• Ability to build sustainable cooperations and work in a network-oriented manner
• Willingness to travel within the logistics area
