Head of Legal

Responsibilities

• Own and lead all commercial legal activity, including drafting and negotiating enterprise customer agreements and partnership contracts
• Partner directly with sales and GTM teams to support active deal cycles and accelerate time to close
• Structure complex commercial arrangements involving data sharing, AI-driven products, and regulated data
• Develop standardized contract templates and negotiation frameworks to increase deal velocity
• Build and own the internal legal function, transitioning work from external firms to a centralized in-house capability
• Support product and engineering teams on legal considerations related to trust, safety, fraud, and data usage
• Advise leadership on legal risk, deal strategy, and regulatory exposure to enable fast decision-making

Requirements

• 6–10 years of legal experience, including time at a top-tier law firm and in-house experience at a startup or tech company
• Strong experience negotiating enterprise commercial agreements and high-value contracts
• Proven ability to work directly with sales teams to support deal execution in fast-moving environments
• Experience structuring agreements involving AI, data, or regulated products
• High ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at high-growth or high-talent density companies such as Palantir, Meta, or Stripe
• Experience negotiating large-scale enterprise deals ($10M+) or complex multi-party agreements
• Background in trust and safety, data governance, or AI-related legal frameworks
• Experience building or scaling an in-house legal function from an early stage
