Head of Intellectual Property

Responsibilities

• Define and lead a global Intellectual Property strategy aligned with the Group's business and technological objectives.
• Manage and develop the IP team, fostering expertise and a collaborative "#one team" spirit.
• Supervise the IP portfolio, including the filing, maintenance, and defense of patents, trademarks, designs, and copyrights.
• Establish open source governance for software development, including audits, internal policies, and advising tech teams on licensing risks.
• Support R&D and product teams in identifying protectable innovations and conducting Freedom to Operate analyses.
• Provide legal support for licensing contracts, technology transfers, and marketing/communication agreements.
• Lead or manage IP litigation, including infringement actions, oppositions, and nullity proceedings, in coordination with external counsel.

Requirements

• Master 2 degree in Intellectual Property law or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Intellectual Property.
• Proven experience in team management.
• Deep knowledge of open source issues and software protection.
• Proficiency in French and international IP law (including jurisdictions such as Canada, UK, USA, and Germany).
• Experience in a complex technological or digital environment (Cloud, Telecoms, or Software preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• Dual legal and technical background (Engineering degree or scientific diploma).
• Qualification as a European Patent Attorney (EPI) or Patent Attorney (CPI).
