Head of Indirect Tax Compliance

Responsibilities

• Manage overall indirect tax compliance and advisory activities across all global operating countries
• Assess indirect tax positions and interpret business models to ensure regulatory alignment
• Define indirect tax requirements for new and existing products and oversee implementation in internal systems
• Research global indirect tax developments and execute plans to ensure compliance with new rules
• Manage indirect tax projects and develop strategic work plans for new service or country launches
• Reconcile revenue, purchase, and VAT/GST data with financial records
• Coordinate with external advisors to obtain technical advice and ensure accurate tax reporting and payments
• Partner with US parent company, international offices, IT, and legal teams to drive tax awareness

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related business field
• Minimum 8 years of indirect tax experience within a multinational environment
• Strong technical knowledge of VAT/GST in both mature and developing jurisdictions
• Experience with indirect tax setup within ERP systems (e.g., Oracle)
• Proven project management expertise and strong organizational skills
• Ability to analyze complex data and communicate technical tax issues to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (or equivalent) or a graduate degree in taxation
• Experience in Big 4, top-tier law firms, or major global corporations
• Background in the e-commerce or travel industry
• Experience in team management
