Responsibilities
- Develop and execute government relations strategies to strengthen Traysar’s reputation and industry positioning.
- Drive efforts to support defense and national security policies and funding priorities.
- Plan and execute program acquisition and adoption strategies to secure revenue opportunities.
- Identify and engage Program Executive Authorities, military units, and PEOs to create funding pathways (SBIR/STTR, NDAA, etc.).
- Navigate the federal budgetary, regulatory, and policy landscape.
- Manage external lobbyists and consultants to coordinate DC strategy.
- Collaborate with founders to plan government sales strategy and set priorities.
- Own and manage the government sales funnel and CRM.
- Prepare white papers, presentations, and capability briefs for stakeholders.
- Monitor annual defense program acquisition cycles and budget execution priorities.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in national security, government relations, or federal legislative/executive roles.
- Significant experience with U.S. federal budget, appropriations, and policymaking processes.
- Extensive experience in defense, national security, or homeland security.
- Proven record of supporting program acquisition cycles and requirements development.
- Ability to develop strategic relationships with PEOs, PMOs, and military leadership.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for policy memos and briefings.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships within DoD program offices, Army Corps of Engineers, or national security agencies.
- Experience with SBIR/STTR, DIU, DARPA, or similar defense innovation pathways.
- Experience with defense appropriations, NDAA strategy, or directed funding.
- CRM and pipeline management experience in a federal business development context.
- Experience with underground systems, autonomous systems, robotics, or defense technology.
