Head of General Ledger & Tax

Responsibilities

• Provide functional and disciplinary leadership to the General Ledger & Tax team
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with IFRS and HGB standards
• Oversee balance sheet reporting to the corporate group and manage forecasts and budget balances
• Lead tax-related topics, specifically VAT, and act as a contact for tax authorities and external auditors
• Coordinate with accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, and bank accounting departments
• Drive digitalization and process optimization projects, including the SAP S/4HANA roll-out

Requirements

• Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance
• Multi-year experience in accounting or auditing
• Proficient knowledge of IFRS and HGB accounting standards
• Strong understanding of German tax law
• Advanced skills in SAP FI and Microsoft Excel
• Proven leadership and communication skills to manage teams and external stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional professional qualifications such as Steuerberater, CPA, CMA, or Bilanzbuchhalter (IHK)
• Previous experience in leading finance teams
