Head of Finance

Responsibilities

• Build the finance function from scratch including FP&A, accounting, treasury, and controls
• Own the financial model, budget, and forecasting processes
• Manage unit economics for a compute-heavy AI business, including GPU/inference COGS
• Manage cash flow, burn, and runway forecasting
• Oversee monthly close, books, and relationships with outsourced partners
• Partner with founders on fundraising, investor materials, and data room management
• Inform pricing and monetization strategies in collaboration with GTM and Product teams
• Manage back-office operations including payroll, benefits, equity, and tax
• Hire and mentor the future finance and accounting team

Requirements

• 9+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or accounting
• Experience in a high-growth startup environment
• Proven track record of building finance functions or models from 0→1
• Exceptional financial modeling skills (three-statement models)
• Understanding of usage-based or consumption business models
• Data literacy with ability to use SQL or BI tools
• Ability to work onsite in San Francisco near Alamo Square

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at an open-source, developer-tools, or creator-tools company
• Experience acting as a core finance partner through Seed to Series B fundraises
• Familiarity with AI creative tools or the Comfy ecosystem
