Head of Finance

Responsibilities

• Lead AVMIN’s day-to-day finance operations, including month-end close, reporting, and compliance
• Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for leadership
• Oversee statutory reporting, audit coordination, tax compliance, payroll, AP/AR, and revenue recognition
• Manage working capital, cash flow, and balance sheet integrity while strengthening financial controls
• Partner with the Managing Director and operational teams to support pricing, tenders, and business decisions
• Mentor the Assistant Accountant and drive process improvements across finance workflows

Requirements

• 5+ years of post-qualification finance experience
• 2+ years in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Senior Accountant role
• Strong month-end close and statutory reporting experience
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations, compliance, and financial control
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline
• CA or CPA qualification
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an ASX-listed or large group environment
• Aviation, transport, logistics, or service industry experience
• Experience mentoring or leading a junior team member
