Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and enable engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership and technical excellence
• Define and communicate technical vision, priorities, and roadmap aligned with business goals
• Oversee system architecture and technical standards to ensure scalability and reliability
• Promote engineering best practices in coding, documentation, testing, and observability
• Monitor engineering processes, workflows, and delivery metrics
• Lead initiatives for incident response, performance monitoring, and post-mortems
• Leverage AI to improve product experiences and team productivity

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years in a leadership role within high-growth environments
• Proven experience delivering high-traffic, mission-critical platforms
• Deep expertise in Laravel/PHP backend systems
• Solid knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, caching, and concurrency
• Experience with Scrum and Agile methodology
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments
• Experience contributing to open-source projects or technical thought leadership
