Head of Engineering – Supply Tech

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of core backend applications, defining a scalable and performant architecture.
• Guide the team through complex technical challenges, such as large-scale middleware rewrites.
• Partner with Product Leads to balance mission-critical business features with technical sustainability and debt reduction.
• Mentor and coach Backend Engineers to simplify system complexity and advance their careers.
• Lead hiring and onboarding efforts for engineering talent.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for the unit regarding API schemas and integration contracts.
• Research and propose modern technologies in message queuing, data normalization, and observability.

Requirements

• Hands-on and recent experience with Laravel.
• Proven experience developing synchronous APIs.
• Experience working with message queue systems such as SQS, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with AWS, Terraform, MySQL, and Redis.
• Strong commitment to end-to-end ownership, including automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Ability to perform complex technical tasks independently while acting as a multiplier for team efforts.
• Self-motivated, responsible, and eager to learn.
