Head of Engineering - Digital

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the multi-year technical roadmap, including stack, architecture patterns, and platform choices for APAC Digital.
• Lead the technical strategy for the adoption and rollout of the Catalyst and CARE platforms across the APAC region.
• Manage cross-cutting engineering programmes such as infrastructure upgrades, platform modernisation, and security/compliance uplift.
• Lead and develop four platform and architecture leads to ensure high-quality engineering standards and documentation.
• Set and enforce technical standards for API design, deployment practices, CI/CD pipeline quality, and production readiness.
• Drive engineering capability development through hiring, training, and the adoption of AI-assisted delivery tooling.

Requirements

• Proven track record of setting technical strategy within complex, multi-product digital platform environments.
• Strong background in modern cloud-native engineering, specifically with Azure, C#/.NET, TypeScript, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience leading platform or architecture teams and managing other technical leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive platform modernisation in brownfield environments and migrate live systems successfully.
• Commercial literacy with the ability to translate technical trade-offs into business outcomes for senior stakeholders.
• Experience working within financial services, insurance, or a regulated B2B digital environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with Catalyst, CARE, or comparable insurance distribution and digital platform products.
• Familiarity with deploying AI-assisted software development (LLM tooling) into engineering workflows at scale.
• Experience operating across cross-geography engineering teams, such as Singapore and India.
