About the role

About the Company

Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms. We are MIT-founded and backed by top investors like Founders Fund and Lux Capital, working to accelerate the world's transition to renewables by solving labor bottlenecks in solar construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a 15+ person multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Collaborate with leadership to align engineering initiatives with company roadmap
  • Scale engineering operations from R&D through manufacturing and full production
  • Architect team structures and engineering processes to support product deployment
  • Represent the engineering function to stakeholders, customers, and investors
  • Establish best practices for development, testing, and documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role
  • Proven track record of overseeing end-to-end development cycles for complex electromechanical systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field
  • Ability to work 4-5 days/week onsite in San Leandro, CA
  • Willingness to travel ~10% to solar construction sites
  • Strong communication and interpersonal relationship management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience developing automation and robotics systems
  • Experience with solar power generation technologies
  • Experience working across multiple different engineering disciplines
