Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across mechanical, nuclear, electrical, I&C, and systems engineering
• Establish engineering governance frameworks including design control, review workflows, and configuration management
• Oversee end-to-end engineering design and system validation to support NRC licensing applications
• Ensure compliance with U.S. nuclear regulations, including 10 CFR Part 50, 52, 53, ASME, and IEEE
• Partner with the Director of Licensing and CTO to provide engineering inputs for Safety Analysis Reports
• Manage engineering risks, schedule dependencies, and resource constraints
• Mentor and develop top engineering talent to build a high-performing organization

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Nuclear, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering
• 12–20 years of progressive engineering experience in the U.S. nuclear industry
• Proven experience in senior or executive engineering leadership roles
• Experience leading complex engineering programs for SMRs, MMRs, or advanced reactors
• Deep knowledge of U.S. nuclear regulatory frameworks and design standards
• Demonstrated ability to manage large, cross-functional organizations in safety-critical environments
• Strong background in systems integration and design verification

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the U.S.
• Direct experience with NRC licensing processes and regulatory interactions
• Familiarity with advanced reactor technologies and modular construction
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Active membership in the American Nuclear Society (ANS)
