Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Oversee front-end and back-end development teams and their projects
• Monitor reliability and performance of all internal systems to suggest improvements
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
• Manage software development projects by setting requirements, goals, and timelines
• Design strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources
• Hire engineers and coordinate their training
• Implement innovative technologies
• Coordinate with stakeholders for new integrations and tools

Requirements

• Experience in developing data intensive applications
• Experience in SaaS and open API development
• Solid enterprise integration architecture knowledge
• Experience leading 5-10 person squads
• Solid engineer hiring and team management experience
• Hands-on GCP experience (Cloud SQL Postgres, Cloud Run, Pub/sub, etc.)
• Experience building scalable architecture and monitoring distributed systems
• Experience with incident management and Agile practices (Scrum or Kanban)
• Proficiency with CI/CD, automated testing, and TDD
• Experience with refactoring large systems and event-driven architecture
• Fintech, financial institution, or banking experience
• Experience with Machine Learning is a plus
• Knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, Grafana, or Prometheus is a plus
