Head of Dispatch and Transport

Responsibilities

• Lead transport dispatching and take responsibility for the Marl and Altlandsberg locations to ensure smooth transport processes
• Manage professional drivers at the Marl site and continuously review cost-optimized deployment planning
• Create and manage budgets
• Coordinate with other fleet areas to optimize logistical processes
• Responsible for tactical transport planning including load formation, tour selection, and freight cost optimization
• Participate in operational transport planning and dispatching
• Monitor transport allocation and proactively adjust planning to avoid disruptions
• Coordinate capacity with connected transport service providers
• Resolve incidents and complaints in transport processing

Requirements

• Vocational training with a focus on transport or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience in a comparable leadership role with personnel responsibility
• Sound process knowledge in operational transport processing
• Experience in transport dispatching
• Experience and proficiency in using Transport Management Systems
• Very good German and professional English skills (written and spoken)
• Strong communication skills with customers, service providers, and internal interfaces
• High degree of responsibility, customer orientation, and solution-oriented mindset
• Cost-conscious way of thinking and acting
