Head of Digital Assets, Personal Wealth

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the digital assets vision and strategic roadmap for Vanguard Personal Wealth.
• Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap, translating strategy into practical use cases and milestones.
• Lead the evaluation and development of digital asset capabilities, ensuring client offers are differentiated and aligned with the brand.
• Shape the end-to-end operating model by partnering with technology, operations, finance, and control groups.
• Build robust risk, legal, compliance, and governance frameworks to ensure regulatory readiness.
• Serve as the senior subject matter expert and external authority for digital assets, representing Vanguard to regulators and industry participants.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of experts across digital assets, product, and strategy.
• Monitor the external environment, including tokenization trends, stablecoins, and blockchain infrastructure, to inform strategic priorities.

Requirements

• 10 years of related work experience, with significant leadership in brokerage, financial services, fintech, or digital assets.
• Deep knowledge of digital asset infrastructure, including tokenization, stablecoins, wallets, custody models, and settlement.
• Strong understanding of regulated operating environments and the ability to navigate legal, compliance, and risk requirements.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives within large, matrixed organizations.
• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence to translate technical complexity into strategic business decisions.
• Undergraduate degree required; graduate degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience spanning both digital asset strategy and hands-on execution.
• Relevant industry licenses or certifications (e.g., Series 7, 63, 24).
• Demonstrated external credibility with regulators or industry trade groups.
