Head of Design & Systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the company’s transition into a design-led systems organization to drive scalability and operational excellence.
• Define and implement the future design operating model, including workflows, governance, and decision-making processes.
• Oversee the client-facing design function to ensure customer requirements are translated into manufacturable and installable solutions.
• Lead product design and development, focusing on scalable product architecture, modular systems, and component libraries.
• Build and manage design systems and operations, including computational design, automation, and software integration.
• Strengthen the connection between design, manufacturing, and installation to improve efficiency and reduce rework.
• Support the development of an in-house design and operational software platform.
• Lead and align multi-disciplinary teams across client design, product design, technical design, and design operations.

Requirements

• Proven senior leadership experience in design, product systems, or design transformation within large-scale furniture, interiors, or modular systems organizations.
• Strong expertise in design systems development, including modular frameworks, technical rules, and repeatable processes.
• Demonstrated experience in product architecture and building scalable product platforms.
• Solid understanding of design-to-manufacturing and design-to-installation integration.
• Experience leading client-facing design operations and translating requirements into technical solutions.
• Exposure to digital transformation, including design software, configurators, and automation tools.
• Track record in organizational transformation, including restructuring teams and implementing governance models.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills to align design, sales, manufacturing, and technology teams.
