About the Company

PermitFlow is an applied AI company serving the nation’s builders, tackling the information challenges of the construction industry. We help construction companies navigate permitting, licensing, and inspections to accelerate housing and infrastructure development.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead PermitFlow's design organization as a strategic partner across the business
• Hire and develop a team of product and brand designers
• Define design strategy, including design system architecture and quality standards
• Perform hands-on design work for high-impact workflows and product areas
• Own and evolve the design system for consistency and scalability
• Establish quality standards and review processes to ensure design intent is met in production
• Partner with leadership to drive design quality that impacts business metrics
• Set the vision for how AI transforms the design function and workflows

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience with deep B2B SaaS expertise
• Experience designing complex workflow products with data-dense interfaces
• 3+ years of experience leading and managing design teams
• Proven track record of building design functions from early-stage to scale
• Exceptional craft in typography, layout, hierarchy, and interaction design
• Player-coach mentality with ability to execute hands-on while scaling a team
• Active AI fluency and integration of AI tools into design workflows
• Experience standing up design processes, critique rituals, and design-eng collaboration
• Strong communication skills for strategic and technical partnership with Product and Engineering
