Head of Design and Technology

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the Design and Technology department
• Raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the subject area
• Ensure the provision of a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum
• Teach the relevant subject across a range of ages and abilities
• Effectively manage and deploy staff, financial, and physical resources
• Formulate subject and faculty improvement plans, including syllabuses and schemes of work
• Act as an outstanding role model and provide pastoral support as a form tutor

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Relevant undergraduate degree
• Proven experience teaching GCSE at a good or better level
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
• Knowledge of current curriculum developments and educational thinking

Preferred Qualifications

• Management or leadership training
