Head of Data

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end data strategy, roadmap, and target operating model
• Lead and develop a high-performing data team across engineering, analytics, and governance
• Manage the data platform direction, including build vs. buy and managed vs. self-hosted decisions
• Ensure reliable, tested, and observable data pipelines and client-facing dashboards
• Establish a single source of truth through a governed metrics and semantic layer
• Drive data governance, quality, and privacy compliance (PDPL, GDPR, NCA)
• Develop and execute a data monetization strategy to turn data into a commercial asset
• Partner with executive leadership to drive a data-driven culture and literacy

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data with 3–5 years in a senior leadership role (Head of Data/Director)
• Proven track record of building and leading high-performing data teams
• Deep expertise in the modern data stack (warehouses, dbt, orchestration, BI)
• Hands-on experience with platforms like ClickHouse, Superset, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Databricks
• Strong command of data engineering, dimensional modeling, and observability
• Experience turning data into business value or commercial data products
• Working knowledge of data governance and privacy regulations (PDPL/GDPR)
• Ability to translate technical data work into commercial and board-level language

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data monetization or building external data products
• Familiarity with KSA and EU regulatory contexts (PDPL, GDPR, NCA ECC)
• Experience making data AI-ready for ML and analytics at scale
• FinOps and cloud cost-management experience
• Background in events, ticketing, e-commerce, or marketplace industries
• Certifications in GCP, AWS, Azure, Snowflake, or Databricks
