Head of Data Platform

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver the multi-year strategy for the Data Platform and Snowflake implementation
• Own the direct monetization capability and technical patterns for delivering curated data products to external customers
• Build and lead a high-performing team of data engineers
• Manage the Data Platform roadmap, balancing customer demand with foundational investments like governance and cost optimization
• Manage strategic vendor relationships and represent the platform to senior stakeholders

Requirements

• Senior-level experience leading a data engineering or data platform team
• Deep technical expertise in modern data architecture, cloud data warehousing (Snowflake or Databricks), and ELT patterns
• Experience with dimensional and analytics engineering (dbt or equivalent)
• Practical knowledge of secure data sharing patterns and marketplaces
• Proven track record of maturing data platforms into strategic business capabilities
• Strong stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical groups
• Experience in hiring and developing engineering talent

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI/ML data needs including feature engineering, embeddings, and vector stores
• Understanding of legal and contractual considerations regarding data rights and licensing
