Head of Data Governance - Financial Crime Risk & Core Compliance

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the regional data governance strategy, leading a team with oversight of AML, Sanctions, ABC, and Trade Surveillance activities.
• Ensure adoption of global data governance policies and standards across the region, providing strategic oversight and supporting regulatory or internal audit reviews.
• Implement and oversee processes for data quality management and data lineage to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Identify and mitigate data-related risks to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders, including system owners, technology partners, and internal audit.
• Drive a data-driven culture through training, awareness, and communication to improve data literacy and accountability.
• Oversee the implementation of data governance tools, such as data dictionaries and key data elements (KDEs).

Requirements

• Substantial experience in a data governance or data management leadership role.
• 5-10 years of experience in Risk, Compliance, or Financial Crimes technology, analytics, or audit.
• Deep understanding of data management principles, data architecture, data modeling, and data lifecycle management.
• Proficiency in SQL and data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica).
• General knowledge of compliance systems such as KYC, Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Surveillance, and Case Management.
• Experience interacting with Executive Committee leadership and control function leaders.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Management, or Business Administration).

• Experience interacting with outside vendors.
