Head of Data Engineering and Platforms

Responsibilities

• Define the technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for data engineering aligned with business priorities
• Lead all data engineering and DataOps operations, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
• Build robust and efficient data pipelines on Databricks across Azure and AWS cloud environments
• Embed DataOps practices, including pipeline observability, automated testing, and CI/CD for data
• Provide technical design and best-practice guidance for data, AI, and BI workloads
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions
• Collaborate with Global Risk, Security, and Privacy teams to ensure platform compliance
• Hire, develop, and mentor engineering leaders and team members to build organizational capability
• Manage the engineering budget and oversee technical initiatives

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, including significant experience leading and managing engineering teams
• Advanced data engineering capability in enterprise environments, specifically with Databricks
• Proven experience operating across both Azure and AWS cloud environments
• Hands-on expertise in data warehousing, lakehouse architectures, big data, and data pipelines
• Strong DataOps capability, including pipeline observability, automation, and data reliability
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with Risk, Security, and Privacy stakeholders
• Degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
