Responsibilities

• Architecture and integration of the central control system (PLT) across all subsystems
• Facility-level control system integration for an experimental facility
• Femtosecond-level synchronization with the high-power laser
• Vacuum integration and beam transport
• Telemetry and control integration into the central system
• Integration of physical systems into computer and control systems
• Building, structuring, and leading the controls team through hiring and mentoring
• Developing the long-term controls vision for future power plants

Requirements

• Proven leadership of technical teams in scientific or experimental facilities
• Strong systems design and integration background
• Solid understanding of laser technology, ideally ultra-short pulse laser architecture
• Experience working with software teams and understanding of software development
• Excellent stakeholder and project management skills
• Visionary thinking for long-term technical possibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Track record of building a controls function or team from the ground up
