About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for accounting, reporting, and internal controls for consumer banking and lending products.
- Manage accounting teams to ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with US GAAP and company policy.
- Oversee SEC and regulatory reporting, including FR Y-9C, Call Reports, FFIEC 101, and FR Y-14.
- Partner with business leadership to integrate accounting and control requirements into business priorities.
- Drive process effectiveness and efficiency through automation, digitization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a robust internal control environment through quarterly and annual assessment processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Data Management, and Technology to execute transformation efforts.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, regulatory reporting, and internal controls within a large U.S. financial institution.
- Experience leading large, complex teams of 100+ individuals.
- Controller experience specifically within consumer banking or lending.
- Strong understanding of Basel regulatory capital requirements.
- Experience working in complex IT and data environments, including MIS and data management.
- Proven ability to work within a matrix environment and influence executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Experience working in a Public Accounting Firm.
- Demonstrated experience as a change agent driving digital transformation and operational efficiency.
- Experience interacting directly with financial regulators and internal/external auditors.
