Head of Compute

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end unit economics of compute, from individual contract structures to long-term P&L consequences.
• Run global procurement of GPU capacity across hyperscalers, tier-one neoclouds, and regional operators.
• Negotiate and close reserved capacity agreements, spot/burst arrangements, MSAs, and DPAs.
• Secure early access to the latest accelerator generations in the quantities required for training and inference.
• Partner with finance and leadership on capital strategy, including commitment terms and balance sheet exposure.
• Collaborate with research and engineering teams to translate training roadmaps into concrete compute requirements and technical qualifications.

Requirements

• Native fluency in unit economics, margin structure, and capital allocation.
• Deep knowledge of the global AI compute market, including hardware generations, pricing dynamics, and market trends.
• Proven track record of negotiating and closing large-scale commercial contracts.
• Ability to operate across finance, commercial, product, and engineering functions.
• High ownership mindset with the ability to build frameworks and processes from scratch.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience structuring large-scale infrastructure or capacity agreements.
• Existing senior relationships across hyperscalers, neoclouds, or regional compute providers.
• Background spanning both finance/capital allocation and hands-on commercial negotiation.
• Experience sourcing compute in high-growth environments where supply was the primary constraint.
• An AI-native way of working, utilizing LLMs and automation to drive efficiency.
