Head of Compliance

Responsibilities

• Ensure Volvo Group Southern Africa adheres to all legal, regulatory, internal policy, and Code of Conduct requirements.
• Identify and manage compliance risks using a risk-based approach in cooperation with management.
• Lead the implementation of compliance policies and maintain effective controls.
• Promote a strong "speak-up" culture and oversee the Whistleblower and Management Incident Report processes.
• Conduct risk assessments in areas including Export Control, Competition Law, Data Privacy, Anti-Corruption, and Anti-Money Laundering.
• Monitor regulatory changes, specifically regarding FICA and POPIA, and update the company accordingly.
• Provide training and education to management and staff to ensure high levels of compliance.
• Oversee the reporting of regulatory breaches and maintain relationships with external regulators.
• Manage the follow-up of internal audit observations and support remediation efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a similar compliance role within a large business environment.
• Professional certification such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
• Certificate in compliance management.
• Membership in the Compliance Institute of South Africa.
• Extensive knowledge of risk management, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong leadership abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
