Head of Communications, Business

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategy for OpenAI’s B2B business, shaping how value is communicated to customers, partners, and the market
• Own press narrative and media engagement, maintaining relationships with top-tier business, technology, and trade press
• Translate complex product and platform capabilities into credible enterprise narratives for technical buyers and executives
• Partner with marketing counterparts to deliver unified marcomms strategies across earned, owned, and social channels
• Advise senior leadership, including the CMO and CRO, on positioning and industry conversations
• Build and scale the communications function, including hiring for social and content support
• Partner with customers and GTM teams to bring real-world use cases to life

Requirements

• 15+ years of communications experience with deep expertise in enterprise/B2B technology environments
• Strong press instincts and a track record of landing impactful coverage with business and industry media
• Experience engaging enterprise stakeholders such as CIOs, CTOs, and developers
• Proven ability to act as a strategic advisor to senior executives
• Experience working in highly cross-functional, matrixed organizations
• Ability to build and scale teams and complementary capabilities
• Sound judgment in high-velocity, high-scrutiny environments
