Head of Communications, APAC

Responsibilities

• Define and lead an integrated communications strategy for APAC, including media relations, executive visibility, and thought leadership.
• Position Airwallex as a trusted fintech leader by reinforcing narratives around trust, compliance, and regulatory strength.
• Act as the regional architect for the company story, ensuring local relevance while maintaining global consistency.
• Own media strategy and execution, building long-term relationships with journalists and external partners across the region.
• Lead issues and crisis communications, partnering with Legal, Risk, and Compliance on sensitive regulatory or reputational matters.
• Support new country launches with integrated PR playbooks and localized communications.
• Partner with Global Internal Communications to amplify leadership messaging and elevate the employee brand across Asia.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in corporate communications, media relations, or corporate affairs.
• Strong APAC media coverage experience within the technology, fintech, or financial services sectors.
• Proven experience managing sensitive reputation, compliance, or regulatory topics in highly regulated environments.
• Experience leading and scaling regional teams and managing external agencies across multiple markets and languages.
• Ability to act as a strategic thought partner to senior executives and align cross-functional stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with a hands-on approach to execution.

• Experience working within a global or regional organization.
• Experience working in high-growth technology or fintech environments.
