Head of Business Studies

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the Business Studies department and subject area
• Raise standards of student attainment and achievement through effective monitoring and support
• Ensure the provision of a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum in line with academy aims
• Teach the relevant subject across a range of ages and abilities
• Manage and deploy staff, financial, and physical resources effectively within the department
• Formulate subject and faculty improvement plans, including syllabuses and assessment strategies
• Act as an outstanding role model and provide pastoral care as a form tutor

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Relevant undergraduate degree
• Proven experience teaching GCSE at a good or better level
• Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills
• Knowledge of current curriculum developments and educational thinking

• Management or leadership training
